Materials List

OAoFA will provide a workstation including a chair, easel, drawing board, plaster casts, shadow box, lighting, taboret, and paper towels.  Students are asked to bring:

Graphite Pencils - Please bring a variety of graphite pencils for use in class.  A range from 4H or so to 6B would be good.

Charcoal - Bring both vine charcoal and charcoal pencils.  Charcoal pencils can range from soft to hard.  Also please bring a white chalk pencil as well.

Erasers - Bring both a white rubber eraser and a kneaded eraser.

Paper - Bring a sheet of drawing paper for the final drawing.  You can purchase a sheet at a art/craft store such as Hobby Lobby, Michaels or Dick Blick.  Recommended brands include Stonehenge and Canson.  A toned paper with a warm earth tone or a middle value gray is recommended.  Another option is to bring a large (18x24) pad of toned drawing paper.

Sketchbook - I recommend bringing a small sketchbook as well to take notes, draw compositional studies, etc.

Storage Bin - A storage bin of some sort similar to this Artbin box is recommended for carrying supplies to and from class.

Clothing - An apron or old clothes is suggested as there is a high possibility of getting dirty.

Attitude - A positive attitude and willingness to try new things is always appreciated!
