Commissions

In addition to creating original work Cody also collaborates individually with clients on commissions.  Commissioning a work of art is a unique, time-honored practice that has taken place through the centuries.  Cody specializes in both corporate and family portraiture, aiming to capture not only the likeness but the personality of the subject.  A variety of options and price points are available, see some examples below.  Contact Cody for more information and/or a customized quote.

Charcoal Drawing

Commissioning a charcoal drawing is a great, economical way to capture the personality of a loved one.  The portrait is completed on toned paper using both dark and light value charcoal.  Charcoal drawings typically portray the subject from the shoulders up and range from 11x14-16x20 in size.

Oil Vignette

An Oil vignette is a full color oil sketch of the subject.  It typically portrays the subject from the shoulders up and is a looser interpretation.  The painting is completed on linen and ranges from 11x14-16x20 in size.

Finished Studio Portrait

The studio portrait is a fully rendered, multi-layered approach that results in a more polished painting.  This option is ideal for those looking for a larger, multi-subject painting or those wanting a piece with background detail.
